Experts share a few ways you can make sure your business reaches its goals.

1. Add Value First

When you’re first starting out, it’s OK to feel the pressure of building revenue, but never let your own growth needs detract from your laser-sharp focus on the needs of your customers and prospects. Give them more than they could reasonably expect from you, and then watch your business soar. – Bill Carmody, Trepoint, Inc.

2. Invest In The Right Team

It’s critical to invest in the right team up front. A solo practitioner who launches a firm with a few hard-working account staff will discover the path to one million comes slowly. The ideal structure is a dual threat. While you can charge one executive with business development and the other with client service, my recommendation is shared leadership to keep both relevant. – Dean Trevelino, Trevelino/Keller

3. Test New Ideas And Strategies

Getting your business to the next level of success often requires a willingness to test new marketing strategies and ideas. Don’t be satisfied, even if your business is doing well — always push to elevate it to the next level. – Michele Gray, Active Web Group Inc

4. Focus On Sales And Revenue

In youragency’s growth phase, I can’t emphasize enough the need to laser your focus on sales and revenue generation! Operations and process development are essential for success, but the lifeblood of your business will be your revenue! Entrepreneurs are typically a creative type that excel at their craft. Surround yourself with great people that complement your skills and help you focus. – Benjamin Dankiw, NAV43

5. Be Authentic And Diligent

Remain authentic in your presence and diligent in your efforts. Over the past seven years, we have built our agency‘s foundation on reputation and results. We have never wavered from our proven, comprehensive processes, regardless of client size. “Word-of-mouth” exposure is not only a service for us, it is something we have always relied on from our own clients to achieve consistent growth. – Jason Pampell, HireInfluence, Inc.

6. Stop Trying To Do Everything

Avoid trying to be all things to all people and industries. Focus on your niche, your strengths. Do one to three things very well and stick to those things while working to perfect those deliverables. – Allan Hug, KAOH Media
